Simulating Gaseous Fluids with Low and High Speeds
نویسندگان
چکیده
Gaseous fluids may move slowly, as smoke does, or at high speed, such as occurs with explosions. High-speed gas flow is always accompanied by low-speed gas flow, which produces rich visual details in the fluid motion. Realistic visualization involves a complex dynamic flow field with both low and high speed fluid behavior. In computer graphics, algorithms to simulate gaseous fluids address either the low speed case or the high speed case, but no algorithm handles both efficiently. With the aim of providing visually pleasing results, we present a hybrid algorithm that efficiently captures the essential physics of both lowand high-speed gaseous fluids. We model the low speed gaseous fluids by a grid approach and use a particle approach for the high speed gaseous fluids. In addition, we propose a physically sound method to connect the particle model to the grid model. By exploiting complementary strengths and avoiding weaknesses of the grid and particle approaches, we produce some animation examples and analyze their computational performance to demonstrate the effectiveness of the new hybrid method.

Magmatic and Metamorphic Fluids in Pegmatite Development: Evidence from Borujerd Complex, Iran
The Borujerd complex of western Iran is composed of intrusions and their surrounding contact aureole, with, pegmatites and quartz veins. Pegmatites differ in mineralogy, origin and age, and two groups can be distinguished. The Older Pegmatites (about 120 Ma age) intruded contact metamorphic rocks from the early magmatic stage, while the Younger pegmatites (52-70 Ma age) formed during the late m...
متن کاملImproving Thermal Stability of Starch in Formate Fluids for Drilling High Temperature Shales
Starch is one of the most widely used biopolymers in water based drilling fluids to control fluid loss. The thermal stability of starch in common drilling fluids is low (93 °C). In this study, the thermal stability of starch has been evaluated in sodium/potassium formate and potassium chloride fluids. Samples of mud were prepared by formate salts (sodium and potassium) and potassium chloride wi...
متن کاملAn Improved Correlation for Second Virial Coefficients of Pure Fluids
In the present work, a modified correlation is presented for the second virial coefficients of both polar and nonpolar fluids based on the corresponding states principle. The second virial coefficients of gaseous polar and non-polar compounds were calculated and compared with experimental data and with other correlations. Comparisons with the existing correlations show that the present work is ...
متن کاملPerformance Analysis of Different Modified MR Engines Mounts
Increasing current vehicle development trends for small, light, front wheel drive vehicles with low idle speeds have been forced automotive industries to use hydraulic engine mounts for further improvement in vibration, noise and harshness (NVH) performance of the vehicles. However, with the development of modern vehicle designs such as hybrid vehicles and variable engine management systems whi...
متن کاملSimulating the Effect of Speed Humps on the U-Turn Traffic
Traffic simulation represents an effective tool for evaluating the suggested alternatives to enhance traffic conditions prior to their application in real sites. U-turn sections represent examples of the complicated sections that cannot be analyzed properly without applying microsimulation approach. Recently, in Iraq, speed humps were applied in prior to the merging locations and U-turn sectio...
